Atlas Adjustment Procedure

On this page we would like to briefly explain all of the possibilities that an Atlas Adjustment procedure can offer, and go over some of the many other treatment options that we offer. Over the last few years Physiology is shifting more and more into the focus of physical therapy. My colleagues and I try and find the core problem, that’s creating the patient’s pain. Complaints of Back Pain, Shoulder Discomfort, Scoliosis, Joint Pain and various other Injuries. To treat these issues we use proven physical therapeutic, osteopathic, and natural healing techniques. The Dorn-Method, The Scoliosis-Schroth-Therapy, Classical sports therapy, in combination with Fitting Training Programs, and Massages.; with our expert therapists, we will find the correct treatment to improve your health with an individually calibrated therapy program.
Here you will find an overview of the possibilities of the Atlas Adjustment Procedure.

The Atlanto-occipital joint

The Atlanto-occipital joint, is a neurological point that all signals from the spine need to travel through. Due to its importance as the main transit point, a misalignment can influence the entire spinal column negatively.

The Atlas is the top neck vertebrae, in combination with the base of the skull and the 2nd neck vertebrae (Axis), and the surrounding muscles, tissues and tendons it creates a complete Organ System.

The Cervical Vertebrae is the weight bearing connection between the head and the body, it has the largest range of motion of any part of the spine, and is also the most easily damaged. This tight pass is shared with vital blood vessels, nerves, muscles, tendons, the body of the vertebrae, as well as the nerve cells of the spinal cord. This makes the Atlas Vertebrae especially vulnerable to injuries with a variety of causes. When the Atlas Vertebrae is misaligned, this can lead to a multitude of symptoms. Which then through a realignment, and correct repositioning of the Atlas Vertebrae can ease and sooth these symptoms.

With the atlasreflex®-Method there are no quick or jerky movements. It’s also not a chiropractic forceful realignment, which can risk new injuries. Instead, the Atlas Adjustment is a slow and steady repositioning of the Atlas Vertebrae through, hundreds of small controlled impulses.

The Findings

A Misalignment of the Atlas Vertebrae can already take place during birth. Assistance during the birthing process can sometimes come in the from of a light pulling motion. This small amount of stress, on the soft tissues of a baby, can already lead to a misalignment of the Atlas Vertebrae. Sometimes these small misalignments can go unnoticed for years, until a fall or accident causes the Atlas Vertebrae Misalignment to become worse, and brings forth a variety of symptoms. The symptoms can come directly after the accident, or the body can try and compensate the Misalignment until Migraines or Dizziness become worse and worse.

Conventional Medicine continues to disregard a misalignment of the Atlas Vertebrae and attributes many of the common symptoms to other causes. Although these symptoms could possibly be fixed through one procedure. When the Atlas Vertebrae is positioned correctly, the stress from holding up and moving the head daily is distributed evenly between joints. Small shifts in the Atlas Vertebrae lead to an imbalance between the left and right sides of the body through the verticle axis. The body tries to compensate for these imbalances by tightening opposing muscles. This compensation for imbalances, brings with it a list of other Symptoms over time such as (Scoliosis, Pelvis misalignment and hollow back) as well as other impairments in a variety of systems in the body (Nerves, Skeletal System, Digestive Tract, Cardio-Vascular System, Respiratory System, etc.).

During movement sequences its natural that various structures become compressed. Because this compression is only short lived, they don’t take any lasting damage. They are elastic enough to return to their original form. However when the Atlas vertebrae is misaligned the compensation, and extra stress on the small muscles of the neck creates a permanent pressure on the surrounding systems (Nervs, Blood Vessels, Muscles) and even on the spinal cord. The subsequent results of this are incorrect impulses and a reduced range of motion, which can but, don’t necesarily leads to chronic pain and limited movement.
